Mass Effect 3 Multi-PLayer Demo with Free Xbox Live Gold

When the Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer demo drops, for a limited time it will include Xbox Live Gold for free. Just not sure how long, maybe 14 days, maybe 2. Bioware announced that just in case you think I am making it up.

By the way if you buy the game, you don't get Gold for free to play online. You have to buy it.

Here is a quick guide on how to keep your children safe while they are online or if you are thinking about buying them xbox live.

1 Make sure you are in control and you know what they are playing what they are seeing who they talk to. Xbox live has a range of social features and dash bored advertisements that may not be appropriate for your child to see.

2 Make sure you know what there playing if they start running around your house naked shouting HEADSHOT NOOBS then there is something wrong if not and you want to prevent that sort of thing from happening then simply make sure the games you buy them are appropriate. Games like call of duty or gears of war contain gore inappropriate language and lots of violence. Remember to check the case before buying it. It will show you the age limit and games rating. Here is a list of the ratings

If you or your child comes across someone you would rather not have communication with you can avoid the player by viewing his profile and click submit player review however this dose not block the user it makes it less likely to be placed in random games together. If a user sends a nasty message you can then block communications by opening the message and clicking block communications and you can also file a complaint by viewing his profile and clicking file complaint.

Xbox 720: E3 “premature,” “nothing new in 2012″

The news came from Cedrick Delmas, marketing director of Microsoft France, during an interviewwith Lepoint.Fr.

In a response to a question inquiring about the rumor suggesting the announcement of the next Xbox at E3 this year, Cedrick said:

“We’re in an industry that talks a lot, that likes to tell stories. I am not convinced things will happen this year. Xbox 360′s cycle is not at all finished. The proof is that we don’t see the logic in cutting the price this year. E3 is still premature. What’s certain is that there’ll be nothing new in 2012.”

Delmas said that Microsoft won’t be making any hasty moves in a bid of counter Nintendo as they prepare to launch Wii U.

“We’re not here to counter Nintendo and they’re not here to fight the other manufacturers. Nintendo has put itself in a different cycle, they’re advancing at their own pace.”

Forget about playing Battlefield 3 or Need for Speed The Run on multi-player between 12:00 a.m. PST and 3:00 a.m. PST tomorrow. That is because EA will be taking their servers offline to do a little routine maintenance. Read below for EA's statement on the matter.

A number of EA's services will be temporarily unavailable on Tuesday, January 31 as we undergo a brief scheduled maintenance.

If you play a game that requires you to log in to our servers, such as Battlefield 3 or Need for Speed The Run, you will need to wait until the maintenance period has concluded to begin playing again. Star Wars: The Old Republic will be offline for slightly longer due to a separate scheduled maintenance. EA games that can be played in Offline Mode should remain playable.

Users will be unable to log in to the Origin client, Online Multi-Player game lobbies, or the Origin store while maintenance is taking place. As a result, you will be unable to purchase games or redeem codes during the maintenance window.

Maintenance is scheduled to begin at 12:00 a.m. PST and end at 3:00 a.m. PST on January 31, 2012.

I know some people think that the Final Fantasy franchise may have fallen off a little bit but I still love the series. Its my favorite RPG series mainstay. I think one of the reasons maybe that RPG gaming is going towards more action based gaming instead of the old turn-style routine. Now there some instances of action within Final Fantasy XIII but not enough to where you can go about hacking and slashing at everything you see. Its more or less the push button sequences during a battle or a huge event in the game.

Now with the release of Final Fantasy XIII-2 you'd hope to see an improvement but this time around you play as Lighting's younger sister Serah. You'd hope this game would be as good or better than the last installment but to some gamers Serah might not be as appealing as Lighting was in FFXIII. Check out the review from GameSpot.

So your account or console, maybe both, got expelled from the Xbox Universe? Now your parent or you has no idea why? You are going crazy with frustration because you have no idea where to ask about it or appeal it. One thing to do is, Do Not Call Xbox Support.

You getting account/console ban is on a totally different level then what calling support can help you with. Your Xbox Destiny now rests in the hands of the few elite team called, Xbox Live Player Enforcement Team. Or XBLPET for short. These guys are trolling Xbox Live on Xbox.com or in the games looking over complaints filed by other Xbox Live members, or hunting infringers down.

Tomb Raider Reboot Achieves Alpha Stage Development Status

The reboot of Tomb Raider has reached the alpha stage, meaning that a fully playable build has been completed. Senior Producer Kyle Preschel and Art Director Brian Horto confirmed the news on the Crystal Habit Podcast, the official podcast for the Tomb Raider developers.
While reaching the alpha stage is great news, that doesn’t mean that game is ready to ship. The alpha and beta stages are used to find bugs, fix problems, tweak mechanics, add or subtract pieces of content, etc. The developers mention that the game will remain in alpha stage for a minimum of two months, before it transitions to the beta stage. The beta stage of Tomb Raider will also be tested for a minimum of two months. Of course, game development comes with a fair share of chaos meaning that this time frame could easily be extended.
The reboot of Tomb Raider is set to be available on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. There has been no word on when the game is expected to be released.

Next Xbox is Six Times More Powerful than Xbox 360, Coming 2013

A high number of reports hit the web today regarding the next generation Xbox console. The tech website Fudzilla broke the story, reporting that the main System on a Chip (SoC) for the next Xbox had begun production in December 2011. Fudzilla claims the SoC is codenamed “Oban,” and regular production of these chips will begin by the end of 2012; this would be just in time for a purported 2013 launch.

Later in the day, the very trustworthy IGN reported that their own sources had confirmed that mass production of the next-generation console’s GPU would begin by the end of 2012. IGN’s sources claim that the SoC will derive from the Radeon HD 6670, a chip that supports DirectX11, multi-display output, 1080p HD, and 3D gaming. The Radeon HD 6670 offers six times the graphical processing power of the Xbox 360 and is 20% more powerful than the technology within Nintendo’s next-generation WiiU console.
IGN says their sources expect the next-generation Xbox to be out in October or November 2013. Developers are expected to receive developer kits this August. Given the legitimacy of the sources, this sounds like the first “Xbox 720” rumor to actually have some substance behind it. A console with six times the processing power as the Xbox 360 is enough to make anybody giddy, but the thought of having to wait til November 2013 is agonizing. Well, anybody ready for a new console or would you rather wait another couple years?

Modern Warfare 3 Maps Locked to One Player One Console

Either this is a kick in the balls to gamers or a DLC screw up. New maps released for CoD:Modern Wafare 3 are only, at the moment, allowing the Xbox Live gamer tag tied to the Elite account to use it. Meaning if you have a account on the same console or just a bubby logging into that console, you can not use the new maps. Suck it.. On top of that the TOS says others can use the content.

Hopefully there will be a patch in the very near future.

Man robs gas station for the love of Xbox.

Check out this loser of the gaming world. Recently Dustin Ferguson, 18, held up a Chevron gas station robbing the place of some quick cash. When the fat slob was found by police at his grandmothers, probably in the basement stuffing his face. Dustin told police he wanted an Xbox and the quickest way to get the money was to rob the gas station. What a winner.

"(He told officers) he was sick and tired of not having any money and wanted an XBox and felt that was the quickest way to get money," he said.

Rumor: Will the Next Xbox have Blu-Ray support?

Kotaku is still pumping out rumors from their source who now says that the next Xbox console will have blu-ray support. If true that means Microsoft will be bowing from pressure from the industry since PS3 already has it. Also means that I should have waited another year on buying a blu-ray player.

"Microsoft will upgrade its disc technology for its next Xbox from DVDs to Blu-Ray discs, catching up to rival Sony, games industry sources tell Kotaku."

Also being reported is the next console will come with the Kinect 2.

A Lesson In Survival: The Grey

Liam Neeson has become one of my favorite kick-ass action heroes over the years. He's just right under Jason Statham's action hero prowess. Liam is not really known as the action hero type but he plays those roles very well. When I first saw Taken back in 2008 I was amazed by his performance. Oddly enough Taken is on right now on the FX channel and I'm loving every bit of it. The movie is great but its relatively short. I wish it would've lasted longer. Neeson's martial arts skills were pretty decent too. He looked like a professional on the screen just like his character portrays.

Now Liam is in another action movie titled, "The Grey". The story is about a oil drilling roughnecks who's plane crashes in the Alaskan Wilderness. They must find they're way back home through the icy wilderness all while staving advances from a pack of wild wolves who think the roughnecks are occupying their territory. The trailer clips are amazing. Well I guess all trailer clips are amazing but this one in particular looks action packed and death defying. It's like that old movie Alive except with a lot more action and minus the cannibalism. Check out the trailer.
