The Top 5 Ridiculously Awesome Games of TGS 2010

Here's my first of two written articles about TGS2010 going up on GameZone. Its aptly titled "The Top 5 Ridiculously Awesome Games of TGS 2010." So go read it.

While you are waiting ....

... for the monstrous podcast that IS the Out-cast crew's TGS impressions, there's been a lot of robot-related news coming out of Japan in the wake of both TGS and the JAMMA Amusement Show.

First up, it looks like Linkin Park has inked a deal with Bandai to do the opening of the latest update to the popular Gundam VS series - Gundam Extreme Versus:



Secondly, a new set of Super Robot Wars L movies have hit the net. This was at TGS and, while it's unfortunate that the series is still hampered by the technical capabilities of the DS, I must admit that it still looks pretty sweet regardless:



Pretty epic music too, eh?

Finally, the new trailer for episode 2 of Gundam Unicorn is out! This episode just keeps looking better and better - can't wait for the bluray to drop!



As for TGS, the podcast should be up very shortly - possibly today even! So hang in there just a little bit longer guys!

Repetitive strain injury

In other words; ow my eyes, ow my thumbs, I; the one who can tolerate high levels of tediousness has got bored as fuck with both these games due to repeating the same damn thing over and over.

In the case of Dark Cloud having to go back and repeat dungeons in order to level up my weapons for each and every character IS FUCKING ME OFF. I've got a solution, it's called not giving a fuck... well; attempting to combine all my weapons into one weapon über-weapon for each character which just might pull me through to the end of the game.

In the case of N3, bwurgh, ACHIEVEMENTS, I want to get them all! It requires me getting all characters to max level and getting a-ranks on every mission which isn't impossibly hard, just painfully tedious.

And you're in for a treat, trust me! The verdict is in and I declare Enchanted Arms a brilliant game! :3

Indeed; if you can endure the best of the non-sense tutorials (which I recommend skipping and using common sense along with the incredibly useful help system instead), corny conversations, predictable storyline, and annoying repetitive soundtracks you WILL unveil a gem of an RPG! I hate that word... 'gem', why I used it is beyond me...

So what reasons do I have for making this claim? Aside from the delicious FMV's and amusing drama between characters... well errr... GOLEMS!

'The fuck's a Golem?!'

I hear you cry... well, a Golem is a robotic servant that fights beside you in a battle. Imagine retro Final Fantasy and Pokémon combined... there's a vast number of them to choose from, each very unique like the one above. Each of them belongs to one of six set elements, holds a large number of other characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of course, they can be trained up and even renamed (I'll perhaps share a few of the names me and my housemate have given sometime for the sake of your amusement) so yeah, much fun to be had right there!

I'll give you more on this game sometime soon! Been really busy enjoying ploughing my way through it and ignoring all other games although due to being back at my mums house I no longer have access to a 360 so that's out the window for now! :3 Let's see what I can play in the meantime...
