Looks like MW3 was a beast during its opening day for the US and the UK. I read an article from the LA Times stating that retail stores sold 6.5 million units of MW3 on the first day. That's $400 million in profits from the much anticipated title. Wow!! When people really want something they just go out and buy it. I knew this franchise was hot but damn. I must be really missing out on something here. I've played the other games in the Call of Duty franchise but I was never really locked into the games. Let's just say I'm not really good at firs person shooters. I'm more of a third person kind of guy.
It's amazing how Activision's group Infinity Ward went through all that turmoil losing their co-creators Jason West and Vince Zampella while taking most of their talented staff along with them to work on another project. They really had to struggle and regroup in order to get MW3 released on time. Making a partner in crime with Sledgehammer games helped out a whole lot too. Now its here and their raking in all of the benefits. This makes me wonder if game developers become instant millionaires from the sales of a videogame just like a music artist would become a instant millionaire from the sales of their music albums. I'm sure they do. Check the review.
