Can your Xbox LIVE account be permanently banned for a modded Avatar?

Have you ever wondered would it be cool to turn your profile avatar on you Xbox LIVE account a different color? Did you ever stop to think that this would get your account permanently banned? First off if you have no clue what I am talking about, then view the image below.

This is what a modded avatar can look like. Now I am going to put the fear of the Xbox gods in you. You can be banned for this. In fact if your first offense is a modded avatar, you are still going to be permanently banned. This is because you are changing it outside the parameters set forth by the avatar editor on Xbox LIVE.  Here is what a XBLPET agent will say when you go to ask about and/or appeal your ban.

"This Xbox LIVE account has been permanently suspended due to unauthorized modification of your Gamertag, avatar or other profile data.

These modifications may include, but are not limited to:

-     Altering the appearance of your  avatar outside of the default parameters

If nothing I have said scares you, then hopefully this knocks some sense into you before you mod your avatar. If your account is suspended forever, you will lose everything associated with that account. When I mean everything I mean, cloud storage, saves, avatar items, even your Xbox LIVE Gold Subscription.
