How Do I Keep The Zombie Nation Off My Ass?!

I don't know what it is but people seem to love zombies. I mean not just in movies but in videogames as well. From A Zombie Ate My Neighbor to Red Dead: Undead Nightmare the zombie genre just seems to get bigger and bigger. Don't get me wrong. I like zombies but once you've seen one movie and played one game you've done it all. Well with the exceptions of 28 Days Later and the Resident Evil series, everything else seems just to be a cliche to me. Now Call of Duty: Black Ops has Escalation - Call of The Dead, their new DLC.

Call of The Dead does offer a sweet little twist. The game features, Danny Trejo from Machete, Sara Michelle Gellar from Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Robert Englund from Nightmare on Elm Street series, and Michael Rooker who was in Slither and Jumper. The game also features George Romero as the head honcho Zombie. Call of The Dead is the second DLC released for Black Ops.

The Quest To Save Eden From Peril

If you like games like Everyday Shooter, Flow, Flower, Rez, & Lumines, then you might like Child of Eden. The difference between Child of Eden and the other titles is that you're not using a controller. It is governed by the Xbox 360 Kinect and the PlayStation 3 Move systems. Child of Eden is a rhythm action shooter  developed by UbiSoft where you must save Project Lumi from a virus attack. Lumi, if saved, would produce human intelligence within Eden. Child of Eden is actually a sequel to the popular Rez game that came out originally for the Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 in 2001. It was later released for the Xbox 360 in 2008. Child of Eden will be released in June. Check out the videos.

Will The New Madden Cover Athlete Stand Up

13 Million of us, we, Madden fans called in our votes today and made our voices heard. Well, sorta. I voted for the other guy. Hey, I've got my reasons, ok. Don't judge me. lol Peyton Hillis is the new cover athlete of Madden 12. I'm really surprised he beat out Aaron Rogers. I mean he won the Superbowl. That's like an Ace trumping a King. Well I guess Peyton hit him with the Joker.

I guess you could say Hillis is "Winning", as Charlie Sheen would say. Peyton got 66 percent of the vote to beat out Aaron Rogers and Micheal Vick. He beat out 2 two of the NFL's most coveted quarterbacks. I thought winning the Superbowl would've been a lock for Rogers to get that cover. For Vick, well I kind of figured that people were still kind of raw about the whole animal cruelty deal despite his walk down the road to redemption. I guess that's gonna take some time to heal.

With that said, congratulations Peyton. I wish you luck on the field this season if there even is a season to play for.

The Enemy of My Enemy Is My Friend

In light of recent events it seems that Microsoft may be chumming up to their competitor, Sony's enemy,  to prevent the same fate. Their seems to be news of people's Xbox 360s being unbanned. DJ Keemstar, who owns 15 of the same system, says that Microsoft made this move allegedly to avoid interactions with the hacker group known as Anonymous. The claim has been acknowledged by many posts from different forums. He has video of one if his Xbox 360s being unbanned as well.

Wow if that's the case I'd like to quietly thank Anonymous. lol I've had 3 banned 360 consoles myself so it would be nice to know that they could be unbanned except they are now damaged permanently thanks to the 3 red rings of death. This could also be a Microsoft sales ploy to lure PS3 owners to sign up for their Xbox Live service since the PlayStation Network is down. I was thinking about buying a brand new Xbox but if they're really unbanning 360s then I guess I'll just save the money and purchase a banned one. Hey you can call me thrifty all you want but at least I'll be back on Xbox Live. Ebay here I come. lol

Update on PlayStation Network Instrusion Scare

Sony just posted this update earlier today regarding the PlayStation Network external intrusion last week. They confirmed that customers credit card information may have been compromised. They might be back up with in a week, they say. Check out the full story here: Update on PlayStation Network and Qriocity

Playstation Network Compromised

If you got this message on your PlayStation 3 in the picture above last week like I did then you already know that the PlayStation Network is down. PlayStation corporate communications and social media senior director Patrick Seybold says that they had an "External Intrusion". Now that's a nice way to say that they've been hacked isn't it? Now its 6:21am Sunday morning right now and I've my PS3 once again to see if the PlayStation Network is back up and it is not. I won't go as far as saying that I'm upset about the turn of events instead I'll say that I'm just a little disappointed about what is going on.

When I found out what happened on Wednesday I was actually trying to play some online matches on NBA 2K11 just before I got the maintenance message. This must mean that whoever hacked the PlayStation Network hit them really hard. The internet hacker group Anonymous was said to have a hand in this due to their previous exploits of trying to crash the PlayStation Network servers in support of George Hotz, otherwise know to the internet as GeoHotz.

Earlier this month Hotz was being sued by Sony for allegedly cracking, tampering, and distributing Sony PS3 signed code. Sony and Hotz later settled out of court. Anonymous claims that they're not the ones behind this recent event of the Network shutdown though. What Sony has claimed would only be a 1 to 2 day fix has turned into four days of online anguish for PlayStation 3 owners. This comes at a bad time when new releases have arrived such as Mortal Kombat and SOCOM 4. I definitely feel bad for those loyal Call of Duty: Black Ops fans. You know they need their fix.

The worst thing about it was that there was no formal video announcement from Sony. It would've been nice if we could have seen a spokes person from Sony or the PlayStation Network talk about what happened and how they were going to go about fixing it. Talk about bad PR. They sort have left us in the dark. I was browsing YouTube and I found one guy that shares my sentiments. Watch this funny tirade. lol

Alien Noir: Prey 2 Storyline and Preview

I think I really need to see how this Prey series plays out because I wanna know what happened to Tommy. The first game was so mesmerizing. Honestly It really made me nauseated with all those loop walks and hanging upside down. It felt like I had vertigo for a while but it was still a great game. Good story too. I'm wondering how the story in Prey 2 is going to connect back to the first Prey since they're dealing with a new character. Watch the latest update video as Adam Sessler from G4 talks shop with Chris Rhinehart co-founder of Human Head Studios and Project Lead of Prey 2.

Run Sonic, Run

I remember when I was a kid my mom surprised my brothers & I with a brand new Sega Genesis system. That system came with the Sonic The Hedgehog game. Back then it used to be standard to package one free game with the game system. I mean if you spend $150 to $300 these days on a game system you should get a free game. They don't really do that any more unless its a bundle package.

I played that Sonic game for hours on end. The graphics were amazing. So many colors to look at. Game play was fantastic. I favorite thing to do in the game was collecting those rings. I used to see how many ring I could collect in one level so that. The levels in the game were pretty creative as well. I think the Labyrinth Zone was my favorite level because of the water. You had to keep collecting water bubbles to breath under water.

The next two games, Sonic 2 and 3 were equally great. I loved changing into Gold Sonic which was. You had to input the cheat codes to do that which were creatively enabled through the music options menu. After the release of Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic Spinball the franchise sort of fell off. There was a release for the Sega CD, Sonic CD, and releases for the Xbox, Dreamcast, Xbox 360, and PS3 that went different ways in direction, but none, to me, really lived up to the Sonic brand.

Now Sonic is coming back with a new installment called Sonic Generations for his 20th anniversary. I can't believe its really been 20 years since I played the original. Wow, time flies when your having fun playing games. lol The game sort of revisits the original Sonic games that we used have fun with. So now they've come back with loop tracks with curvy twists followed with the lip ramps that pops Sonic up high in the air. There is a new feature where you can play the original classic Sonic or a updated modern version of Sonic getting two different views of the game. Finally I think I can enjoy another Sonic game again. The game will released sometime later this year.

Same Ol' Duke

Would I say Duke is a male chauvinistic, beer drinking, superhero tool bag? Nope, I would not. I would say that he's man of the people, a decent citizen who takes it upon himself to save the world time and time again. I would even say he is deserving of particular creature comforts. I mean come on, you can't deny a guy who protects us from evil at any given cost can you? So bartenders next time you see the guy serve him some beer on the house. Ladies, show the man how appreciative you are of his service and truly motivate him to continue his efforts. lol

Okay forget what I just said. I didn't mean it. I mean if you do take this serious then you obviously need to get out more. Duke is just a character in a game. Don't believe me? Fine, then check out this trailer.

The Gravity of The Matter Is A Very Bleak Existence

Inversion is a third-person co-op shooter that combines hard-hitting, adrenaline-pumping action with a revolutionary gravity manipulation engine. Looks like a good looking game. Its a different take on a third person shooter. I guess developers try to change the scope of the shooter game genre.

I think when I play a shooter the first thing I look for is what will draw me in. It has to make me want to blow guys up to kingdom come. The second thing is that game has to have a decent story. Make me feel like I need to have a gun ho fight theme song playing in the background when I'm playing. The third thing is that the game has to have great game play and game mechanics. The game can look great visually all day long but if my hands don't grasp the control functionality then forget about it. I would be better off playing with a Rubiks Cube.

Gravity manipulation sounds like a good add in to the game. Let's just hope that it meshes well with the game's story. I checked the games website. It has some nice screens and video but not much on the story. The game's release won't be until February of next year. Check out the videos.

The Joys of Videogame Sex

I remember when video games were first being added with character voices and dialog. The first game that I played that included character voices was Bad Dudes for the original Nintendo. Back then you could barely here what the characters were saying. They sounded like scratchy radio audio over a phone. It really wasn't the best. Videogames have come a long way over the years. Now they incorporate full dialog between characters in games with expletives and sexual innuendos. Seems like year after year game developers would push the limits to see how far they could go.

Today its all out of Pandora's box now. The first sex scene I ever saw in a game were in the Leisure Suit Larry series. Leisure Suit Larry was like the Benny Hill of videogame characters. He was chasing whatever piece of action he could get. Then Grand Theft Auto introduced sex scenes with Grand Theft Auto 3 and now everyone is doing it.  Its normal these days for game developers to add in a sex scene or 2 in a game just as it is for directors who make movies. Sex in videogames doesn't necessarily replace porn but you still get your kicks from watching. Its like watching the worst softcore porn with equally bad cheesy dialogue. lol

I saw this on XPlay yesterday on G4. It the best videogame sex scenes.

Death of a Handheld Portable

The PSPgo is officially dead. The was confirmed via Sony of Japan as they focus on their next portable gaming console the Sony NGP. I think what happen was the the PSPgo just didn't catch with Sony fans. It was sort of a mediocre version of the PSP. It was stripped down a bit. There was no UMD drive and you could only download game on to it. Worst of all it wasn't very hacker friendly like the original PSP is. Owners of the PSP love that its hackable and that you can run homebrew games and apps on it. You could somewhat do the same with the PSPgo but it lacked a lot of functionality when it came to that. So Sony tried and failed but that's ok they definitely have much better projects coming along in the future.

Mortal Kombat Legacy Is Here

The first 2 Mortal Kombat Legacy episodes are out now. They're pretty entertaining. Now this is no full length feature movie so don't be a "Patty poor sport". Nothing to be too critical about. This is just something to kickback to grab a beer, or for you youngsters, fruit punch, have a snack and enjoy the show. I just finished watching the both episodes they were pretty decent. This series looks like it will show the characters as how they all began sort of like Wolverine Origins. There will be a new episode every Tuesday on YouTube via Machinima. So enjoy the show!

New Addiction

I saw this coming, anything where I can listen through my ridiculously large collection of music and play a game was bound to be a hit with me! In this PC game you play a small hovership, your music produces a track for you to run down, objects and speeds vary based on different song elements, simple! :) If I can manage it, I might start producing some YouTube gameplay videos!

And The Winner Is...

Alabama Crimson Tide running back Mark Ingram is the winner of the coveted NCAA Football 12 cover. Mark Ingram is the second straight SEC player to win the NCAA Football cover. Tim Tebow was last years cover holder. Ingram, winner of the 2009 Heisman trophy, ran for 875 and 13 touchdowns on 158 attempts last season. He has a total career stat of 3,261 yards and 42 touchdowns on 572 attempts. So I'm guessing he'll be pretty damn good in the game. I saw him on ESPN earlier today for the cover announcement. Heres the video.

As a strict vegetarian...

My boyfriend's brought Super Meat Boy for our Steam account and despite having a putrid hatred for platformers and a dislike for the concept of Super Meat Boy being meaty, bloody and squelchy since I'm well... I'm vegetarian, I've decided to play it and I'm actually really enjoying it!

It's not the type of platformer that annoys me, I can see why it's an award winner... very simple, really good controlls,  I'm really good at it which makes SUCH a change, the only thing I dislike is the collection side of it and that's not compulsory. The meaty, bloody and squelchyness did at first bug me but I very quickly got over it as I stopped relating Meat Boy to err... dead animals and started seeing him as a separate being that isn't actually meat... just a block of red that leaves red trails? I'll try not to think about it too much, noticed you can unlock other characters so I look forward to that!

Post Apocalyptic Rage

The game is called Rage. It's a game that takes place in the not too distant future where an asteroid impacts Earth changing life on the planet in a very drastic way. The world is left civil no more. Only savagery and thuggery remain. So its your everyday Mad Max type of game. It does look sort of similar to the Borderlands game. I won't be for sure until I play it. The game releases September 13th. Check the videos.

Navy Seals Do The Dirty Work That Nobody Else Can

I'm not really big on the Military based games. It has to be more fantasy fiction for me like Gears or War or Metal Gear Solid. Still though these types of games draw a large gaming fan base and I don't blame them. They've made games like Call of Duty and Battlefield very popular. I admit they are fun to play with other people. I think these types of games are popular because of the allure of war. People like to pretend that they're on the front lines commanding troops and fighting the good fight. And its also good just to wreak havoc and blow some stuff up. There are a lot of good games coming out this week and Socom 4 is one of them. The multiplayer game phenom is back. Take a look.

Multiplayer Action In Uncharted 3

Here is some mutilplayer action from Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. I hope its as good as the multiplayer modes in Uncharted 2. My brother and I had lot of fun playing that.

Bet You Can't Dance Like I Can

Yesterday I went over to a friends housed and had the chance to play with the new Kinetic Xbox 360 system. Now I haven't really crossed over into the next generation of gaming with the free movement systems that PS3, Xbox 360, and the Wii provide now. I'm still old fashioned with my gamepads and controllers but experiencing this just might make me jump into the new horizon.

So I watched my friend's kids as they played Dance Central for the Kinetic System. Its truely a free flowing system. Everything in the game is body movement gestured. No controllers or gamepads are used at all. You hand is the controller. You select your options in the game by a hand wave gesture. You make your selections by holding your arm out and moving it up or down. When you pick your options you make a wave gesture from right to left. As I watched the kids seemed to be accustomed to the system very quickly.

After watching them go 2 or 3 rounds I decided to give it a try. It felt weird playing a videogame without a controller but it was pretty fun to play. Dance Central grades you on how well you do the moves and how you finish  your dance routine. I even went against one of the kids in a dance off. Some how the little guy won with barely doing any of the moves correctly. Either I'm bad at dancing or he's a little mini Michael Jackson. I was doing the moves fairly correctly. Well at least enough to score. I think it might have something to do with the Kinetic's sensors. I am a taller figure than the kid so it may not have scanned me correctly. There were also 2 other people playin before me as well.

The games song selection is pretty decent. The game features artists like Snoop Dogg, Lady Gaga, and Pitbull. It definitely has sounds that will keep you moving to the beat. They are very energy driven and upbeat tunes that don't disappoint. I must say though it is a bit of a workout which is good. I just wasn't expecting to break a sweat which I did. I'm thinking I need to do this more often and get off my couch potato butt. Luckily I haven't got to the level of fat or obese. I think this Dance Central game is a good way to curtail that.

So have I changed over to the new horizon? I think I have with Dance Central. I was really impressed with how the Kinetic system worked. I definitely would love to play Dance Central on the regular. Its really a good way to keep in shape. Here's a video review of the game from GameSpot.

It's not you, it's me!

I actually vowed to myself to never play this game again, hold me against it.

There's nothing wrong with it, in fact I'd go as far as to say it's the best tactical game I've ever played! The problem is well... as you've seen in the past, me and tactics, we just don't go! Why? Because I take so freakin long to advance due to being such a perfectionist and I always make sure my 'restart entire game' button is at hand in case I make any minor fuck ups! ._.

The King of the Night has something to say...

Oh hai guys! I'm the King of the Night!
I'm the final final boss of Ninety-Nine Nights... if you can remove 45 minutes of your life and attempt to defeat me and then despite the incredibly slim odds: succeed, you'll be presented with the most abrupt ending to a game ever!

It explains nothing. D:

Wii Part Deux HD

Rumors have been spreading like wildfire over the next release of Nintendo's new console dubbed the Wii 2 HD. It is currently being codenamed "Project Cafe". The new Wii system will feature HD resolution and also a revamped controller that will include an LCD touch screen, dual analog sticks,  and the stand direction D-Pad with buttons. With the controller you'll be able to stream game content in its entirety allowing you to play like a hand-held console. The reported unveiling is to be made at the E3 gaming convention in June. Here's a video.

Corruption on These Streets: LA Noire Trailer #3

Forget playing the game, I think I'd rather watch the movie. These trailers definitely have me reeled in. It really has the look and feel of a good movie. I wouldn't mind going to see it. The actors are used to portray the characters in their own images. It's really interesting to see. I see faces in the game that I've seen in the movies and TV shows. The facial expressions, gestures, and body language in the game is uncanny. I can't wait to play it. Here's a look at the latest trailer.

Bustice Meets Her Match

Bustice is back but this time she meets her match, General Jiggler. Let's see how this goes down.

Madden 12 or Bust!

Looks like EA Sport is still planning to roll through with Madden 12 despite the legal battle between the NFL Player's Union and the team owners. They released a teaser trailer announcing the release of the game on August 30th which is my birthday. I've been playing this game for about 19 years now. Wow, thats a long time. Which makes me officially old. lol Well at least I can say I'm truly a Madden fan to be playing this game for so long. So I'm hoping someone will generously buy me the game when it comes out. After all it will be my birthday. The trailer really is a teaser. It doesn't really show much to the effect of an actual game. There is no news of any updated features or game changes either. We'll just have to wait and see. Here's the video.

When The Tables Are Turned: RE: Operation Raccoon City

Just when you thought you were home free the tables get turned. A shift in the paradigm happens and you are, for a lack of a better word, screwed. Well that seems to be the case for Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield in the upcoming Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City title. In this title you don't get to play as Leon or Claire. You're not the protagonists in this game. You play as one of the bad guys. You get the option of playing as one of 4 characters from the secret spec ops Umbrella group known as Vector. The group is sent out by Umbrella to wipe out any and all remaining witnesses of the Raccoon City T-Virus epidemic. The general focus is set on eliminating Leon and Claire. The game takes place in a Resident Evil 2 setting. Check out the trailer.

Creating A Masterpiece: Gears of War 3

Cliffy B and the guys at Epic Games talk about their baby of creation Gears of War 3 and what it takes to make this game the best Gears of War game to date.

Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition Update

It looks like the Capcom heard me whining about Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition. They have officially announced that they will be releasing the new game not only as a physical release in stores but also as a DLC which is good news to me. Well it wasn't just me complaining. I'm sure there were other Street Fighter fans in line with their complaints well before me. I definitely would've hated to go out and buy another game. Check out the video.

Ryu or Kazuya: Who's The Better Champion?

I've seen a lot of collaboration crossover games over the years from Capcom Vs. SNK to Marvel Vs.Capcom 3. They always seem to bring your "what if" questions to life. For instance, who would win between Akuma or Geese Howard? How would Ken fair against Terry Bogard? You all those fighters together and you just have fun figuring all that out. I have to thank Capcom because most of those characters are from their own creation. Some are on loan from Marvel and SNK added in their fighters. I had fun playing all those games.

Now Capcom & Namco are bringing some noise each with their own mixed fighting titles. Both games are being released sometime next year. Capcom is releasing Street Fighter X Tekken and Namco is releasing the mirror game Tekken X Street Fighter.  Really makes you wonder how both games are gonna play. Will the Tekken characters play like Street Fighter or will the Street Fighter characters play like Tekken? Here's some video of the future releases.

The key element to producing an amazing game...

...Hideous voice acting!

I couldn't stop laughing whilst watching the video above, it's so over-exaggerated and confusing and YES! It IS from the original English dub of Dynasty Warriors 3, not a fan dub or something down those lines! My little brother re-purchased this game so I decided to have a little go on it with him today and oh nostalgia! This game really DID kick off the Dynasty Warriors series and well... the general KOEI Warriors series. :) Oh, and to mention, this game has the best versus mode of the series! It's simply random officers slammed against random officers in a 4 vs 4, fun fun fun!

Games just aren't as ruthless as they used to be!

One of my favorite titles for the Playstation is an action-advernture called 'Alundra', I played it last night for the first time in 10 or so years! I'd forgotten a lot about this game, particularly how sick and twistedly merciless it is with it's one set difficulty, random death traps, barfing out monsters everywhere, brain wracking puzzles and general complexity! I made the same hilariously hideous mistake I made last year when I played Tomb Raider... playing into the game for about an hour and a bit then suddenly dying finding I only had the option of restarting the entire fucking gaaaame, urgh, why do you punish me for playing you?

Yes I did! Now stop patronising me!

14/04/11 update: It took me awhile to figure out but I'd accidentally mapped 3 actions to one button so when pressing square, Alundra was attempting to dash, attack, and use a selected item all at the same time... since I haven't played the game in such a long time, I failed to notice any abnormalities and have continued to play like this for roughly 2 hours! :S

Well Shoot, I'll Fix It Myself

What you're looking at is a Playstation 3 power supply. If that goes bad it will render your PS3 useless. It will be nothing more than a over priced thick plastic brick that you can smash Foghorn Leghorn over the head with. That's what mine did back in February. It finally gave up on me after 4 years of service. It died after many hours of my PS3 being left on when I wasn't playing it. I was really careless about that. I would leave it on thinking that I would come back and play it and would forget to turn it off.

So for about a month I was without my favorite toy. That was right around when I started my blog back up. I needed something to keep me busy. Meanwhile though I was actively searching for a place to buy my new power supply. The first place I checked out was Ebay. I found a few sellers that sold the specific power supply that I needed but the prices were so high. I never bid on anything on Ebay because I hate competing people and their automatic bids. So I just do the buy it now option. The shipping prices were expensive though so I started looking for other websites that might sell that particular part and I found one in particular.

The one I found was TheGamerfix.com. This website has a lot of unique stuff for the diy(do it yourself) type of person like me. I found my power supply that I need which was a ZSSR5391A, which is compatible for the 20, 60, and some 40 & 80 gig PS3 versions. The part was very affordable. I think I only paid $25 for it and shipping was free. I ordered it and it arrived quicker than I had anticipated. Now I have to warn you opening your console hardware voids your warranty. So only do this if you know what your doing and feel comfortable and confident in fixing your own hardware. I've been a gear head since I was a kid. I have been taking stuff apart and fixing them for as long as I can remember so this was second nature.

Taking my PS3 was pretty easy almost as easy as a 360. The repair only took a few minutes. The power supply sits adjacent to the Blu-Ray disc player on the top surface underneath the hood. Everything else sits on the bottom. Good planning by the product engineers. Its better to have the power supply and  optical disc drive to go first rather than the motherboard and processors. All in all it was a very easy fix. Not complicated at all. The power supply was very easy to get to. I'd rather  fix stuff on my own than have to send it in somewhere and wait for ungodly amounts of time. The good news is my original warranty ran out years ago so I can purchase new warranty if I opted to.

If you're a gear head like me and you need parts to fix something check out the aforementioned site. They really have some good stuff. They're affordable too. If you want to find out how to take apart your PS3 check here:

Oh Alice, You So Crazy! I Really Mean That!

I love creepy games and this game is one of them. This is a twisted re-imagination of Alice in Wonderland. Add in a dash of KISS, a pinch of Rob Zombie, a cup of the everlasting evil dark side, and stir with a big spoon of black death and you get Alice: Madness returns. Actually this is a sequel of a previous Alice game made  back in 2000 by American McGee which was a big hit back then. From watching the videos Alice goes crazy in Wonderland as she tries to piece together her memory. I would love to play this creepy adventure. The release date for this game is June 14th. Check out the videos:

A decent rip-off courtesy of Activision

Screenshot from Smash TV

Me and my other half were looking through games we could cooperatively play. A game he recommended was "Smash TV" for the SNES, a very unique overhead run and gun arcade style shooter... upon playing it, it reminded me of something I'd previously played and enjoyed, after a little thinking I realised it was "Dead Ops", an arcade style 4-player mini-game on Call of Duty: Black Ops, no doubt a changed theme rip-off of Smash TV, but a decent one!

So err nice one on resurrecting a classic Activision, something I can actually praise you on, oh, but overall... you're still twats.

15 Years of Resident Evil

I can't believe its been 15 years since the first Resident Evil came out. I remember the first game. It was my first really horror game that I ever played and man was I scared of it. I couldn't believe I was scared of a  videogame. lol I was playing the game waiting for something to jump out at me or something that just happened to sneak into the scene. I hated that but I loved playing.

Resident Evil 2 was my favorite of the franchise. It was so fun to play. The graphics were a little bit better than the first and there was more action. My brother and I got so good at it that were racing to see who would beat it the fastest. It also ended differently based on how you played it. Resident Evil 3 & 4 were equally gruesome. I had fun playing those too.

Then the movies came out. The first Resident Evil came out in 2002. Games that go to the box office have a history of not doing so hot. The Street Fighter movie is a bad reminder of that. Who remembers Raul Julia as M. Bison? I do! lol The Resident Evil movies have been great. Each one gets better and better. They all are very action driven and involve a lot of ass kicking of zombies.

To commemorate the 15th Anniversary Capcom is adding revamped HD versions of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica X. Those titles won't be around till the fall of this year though. Plus they're expanding the RE franchise with future releases of RE: The Mercenaries 3D and RE Revelations for the Nintendo 3D. This also includes a rumored RE: Operation Raccoon City title as well. So it looks like the future for the RE franchise is bright even though the games are pretty dark. Take a look at the trailers.

In One Portal & Out The Other: Portal 2 Preview

The Portal series has been a pretty creative one. I never would've thought of playing a game where you jump through holes in the wall all the time until I saw Portal. I actually had this with the Orange Box bundle for my Xbox 360 but then I got the 3 rings of death so I never got to play it. I might buy another Xbox 360 but I'm not really sure. After going through 3 due to hardware failures I can't imagine spending money on a fourth. I might buy it for my PC though.

Portal 2 is a first person action/puzzle game. It takes place, with the original character Chell, awakening several hundred years after the original game in the Aperture Science Facility. Here's the preview trailer:

inFAMOUS 2: The Quest for Power Trailer

I really need to catch up with my games. I'm a little behind. I haven't even play inFamous 1 yet. Well I played the demo but I didn't really like the controls. It felt a little funky to me. Maybe I should get the game and take another look at it because that game became a hit. Now Sucker Punch Productions is about to release inFamous 2 in June. Well at least I don't have to pay full price for for the first inFamous since it's been out for a couple of years now. I'll give myself time to warm up for the second one. Here's the trailer:

Just a little sneak peek before the Mortal Kombat game release later this month. Hope you all enjoy.
