I can't believe its been 15 years since the first Resident Evil came out. I remember the first game. It was my first really horror game that I ever played and man was I scared of it. I couldn't believe I was scared of a videogame. lol I was playing the game waiting for something to jump out at me or something that just happened to sneak into the scene. I hated that but I loved playing.
Resident Evil 2 was my favorite of the franchise. It was so fun to play. The graphics were a little bit better than the first and there was more action. My brother and I got so good at it that were racing to see who would beat it the fastest. It also ended differently based on how you played it. Resident Evil 3 & 4 were equally gruesome. I had fun playing those too.
Then the movies came out. The first Resident Evil came out in 2002. Games that go to the box office have a history of not doing so hot. The Street Fighter movie is a bad reminder of that. Who remembers Raul Julia as M. Bison? I do! lol The Resident Evil movies have been great. Each one gets better and better. They all are very action driven and involve a lot of ass kicking of zombies.
To commemorate the 15th Anniversary Capcom is adding revamped HD versions of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica X. Those titles won't be around till the fall of this year though. Plus they're expanding the RE franchise with future releases of RE: The Mercenaries 3D and RE Revelations for the Nintendo 3D. This also includes a rumored RE: Operation Raccoon City title as well. So it looks like the future for the RE franchise is bright even though the games are pretty dark. Take a look at the trailers.
