Its really annoying when you don't know the identity of the main character in the game that you're playing. I'm talking about Point Man. Really, Point Man? They could have come up with a better name than that. Its also equally weird that Point Man has no lines in this Fear series. He's just there in the game. Even Master Chief from the Halo series has lines though we may not now his fully identity. Nonetheless this Fear series is still a hit. It must be a hit if i survived long enough to come back as a trilogy.
Now just to be clear I'm not hating on this series. I thoroughly loved the first Fear game until my Xbox 360 died on me and I lost my game saves, Fear being one of them. That was hard for me to get over because I was nearing the end of the game. I have it for my PS3 now but I've yet to play it. It sucks having to start all over again.
The only thing that I dislike about some shooters like Fear is that you don't have the ability to switch from first person to third and vice versa. I feel better playing shooters in third person because I can see everything. With first person shooters sometimes you miss the natural blind spots. Most people can see from the corners of their eyes. With first person shooters it sometimes feels like tunnel vision. I'm constantly having to see whats to the left or right of me. If they added in that option for players it would be so much easier to enjoy shooters. Also it would keep me from dying in 2 seconds on Call of Duty: Black Ops.
In this new Fear game Point Man must decide where his alliances lay. He returns but not alone. Paxton Fettel, Point Man's brother, is back from the dead with some new tricks. His crazy supernatural mama Alma is back again wreaking havoc in the city of Fairport. So you're wondering like I'm wondering. Will Point Man join his crazy family or will he stay true to his F.E.A.R. squad. Check the videos:
