Iron Man 2 Game Preview In Length

Here is a 10 minute preview of Iron Man 2. The guy in the video really explains the game in full detail. Pretty impressive presentation. He definitely knew the ins and outs of the game. Looks like Sega is gunning for a smash hit here.

Its All About The Classics: Metal Gear Solid

11 years ago is when I first played this game. I was a freshman in college and my friend busted in my dorm with his PlayStation and Metal Gear Solid. I popped the game in and I was amazed. I couldn't stop playing. It was like playing a action Movie not a game. I knew then that a new day in gaming was coming. Sure enough I was right. The action tied in very well with the movie sequences. On top of that you had a great leading character in Solid Snake, the man, the myth, the legend. This guy was a bad ass and could go toe to toe with anybody. The villains in the game were equally as great also very challenging to defeat too. The plot of the game played out like a full featured movie. So the story goes as such. Snake is basically retired living in his Cabin in the wilderness of Alaska when all of the sudden he's basically kidnapped and taken away only to see his old Colonel, Roy Campbell. Campbell asks him to infiltrate his old special forces unit, FOXHOUND, who have gone rogue. Snake is sent in to neutralize FOXHOUND who have made terrorist threats of launching a nuclear strike. He also has to save the DARPA Chief, Donald Anderson, who actually turned out to be Decoy Octopus, a shape shifter, and the President of Armstech, Kenneth Baker. Kenneth Baker is later killed off by Revolver Ocelot. The game had some very memorable villians such a Revolver Ocelot. At first he was hard to beat because of the area of where you have to duke it out at and also the fact that he can shoot really well. Then there's the Ninja, Grey Fox. I thought that was a cool character. He was killed in Outer Heaven and remade into a lethal Cyborg. I loved when he said, "Hurt me more!" There's also Sniper Wolf. She was hard to beat because you had to fight her 2 times and at a distance each time. Talk about skilled shooter. Anywhere you moved you got shot. Let's not forget Psyco Mantis. He could read your mind and bragged about it in the game. You had to switch controllers just to beat him. Towards the end you fight your copy cloned brother Liquid Snake, who you also fight twice. He's in a Russian Hellicopter the first time then he's in the Metal Gear which is a bitch to beat. The graphics weren't the best. I mean characters couldn't even move their lips or make facial expressions in the cut scenes which I thought was funny. They made up for it with the game play and compelling story. They made a remake of the game on the Nintendo Gamecube in 2004, Metal Gear Solid:Twin Snakes, with much better graphics. I loved the little love story between Snake & Merryl in the game. Too bad she broke his heart in MGS4 and married a goofball. If I had to rate this game I would give it a 9 out of 10. MGS was definitley a game way ahead of its time. If you have a PS3 go to the PlayStation store and download this great game and play.

Microsoft To Make Anime Shorts For Franchise Game

Microsoft is in the works to make Animatrix-Style Halo film shorts called Halo Legends. The endeavor will be produced by Microsoft's 343 Industries with the aid of a couple anime greats Shinji Aramaki and Mamoru Oshii to bring the project to life. Halo Legends will be a collection of short stories involving different characters, themes, and events within the Halo genre. Microsoft will also introduce a new feature called Halo Waypoint giving fans a new experience. The new feature will include a career and player ranking system that will tie players into Halo Legends via accomplishment in and out of the game. Look for Halo Legends to be released later this fall on Xbox Live. Now that's something for Halo fans to look forward to. I'm not much of a Halo fanatic but I would love to see how this plays out.

Talks of Rockstar Games Making GTA Movie

It seems like Rockstar might be in possible talks of making a Grand Theft Auto Movie. I definitely love Rockstar and their genre of games. They're very innovative and creative but I just can't see a movie though. I don't think a movie would do the games any justice. The plots in the games are crazy. I just couldn't see those kind of scenarios in a GTA movie. For more info click the link:

MJ Lives On! On a PS1

I was so sad when my brother called to tell me that Michael Jackson died. I couldn't believe it. I thought one of the other Jackson brothers would go first. Sadly it was Michael. Apparently Michael left his John Hancock on a original PlayStation. It was the 1,000,001st PS1 to be built by Sony. The PS1 is currently being sold for a whopping $1.5 million. It doesn't look like its going to hit its mark. The current bid is $1,725 with only 26 bids made. I don't know, maybe they're just watching the auction and waiting to bid in the last minute. Check out the full the story here:

Sega Says Sorry Y'all

Can't believe Sega is doing it. What you might ask? They're apologizing for that bum ass Iron Man game they made last year. I hated it. I couldn't finish it because the flying controls were so jacked. I was all over the screen trying to fly with Iron Man. It was really annoying. When are these game developers gonna learn? If you don't have at least semi decent controls you have no game. Anyways here's the latest trailer for Sega's Iron Man 2. Perfect timing for a apology right? Yeah I thought so myself. Let's just hope the new Iron Man game makes a 360 degree turn around on improvement.

World of Warcraft Moview | WoW movie | Sam Raimi Helming

World of Warcraft Movie in Pre Production

World of Warcraft Movie will be directing by Sam Raimi Helming. It’s circulating rumours have confirmed by Blizzard and Legendary Pictures. For several years now WoW Movie has been in pre production. The rumour was first reported by AICN before then confirmed by Variety.

"At its core, Warcraft is a fantastic, action-packed story," Raimi said. "I am thrilled to work with such a dynamite production team to bring this project to the big screen."

This Is 50!

Greetings friends. I hope you guys like the new site. I had to redo it just a little bit. I wanted it to look hot so people would come to it and say, "Man this is hot!" lol But seriously folks, I wanna talk about a guy who was shot 9 times and lived to tell about it. A guy who made it big in the rap game selling a million plus with his first major album in its first week of sales. A guy who sold his Vitamin Water drink for $400,000,000. People, "This Is 50!" Yes Curtis Jackson, or 50 Cent as we know him has definitely taken the music and the movie game by storm. I mean he's getting his hands in everything. He the man with the Midas touch. He's also dipping into the video game industry. Now this isn't his first time trying that out. We all remember his first time trying that out with his first game on the original Xbox called 50 Cent:Bulletproof. I hate to bring back bad memories but this game was bad. I mean garbage. It was so bad I gave my own copy of it away. It had no business being on the market. The game sucked. Why you ask? It was because of the lame game controls. The game set up was ok, graphics were great. It was just the lackluster controls. You couldn't aim to save your life. The movement sucked. The way you viewed the environment was..... well let's just move on. Now 50's got a new game, 50 Cent:Blood On The Sand. He definitely redeemed himself with this one. One thing majorly different.... great controls. Now I've actually played and finished the game and I loved it. Who would've thought of some guys from the hood tearing up the cities in the middle east kickin' ass and not taking any names? Nobody but 50. Now that's what I call fighting terrorism. lol I really had fun playing it. The game had great graphics and game play. You can even listen to your favorite 50 tracks while playing. The plot was simple; just get the damn Skull with the diamonds on it by any means necessary. In the game you play as 50. You can play alone or you can team up with a sidekick. Your selections to choose from are Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, and DJ Whoo Kid. You can also have someone online join up with you on missions. The game has a lot of decent weapons to choose from. My favorite weapon is the Buzz Saw. The game is point driven. The more mayhem you cause the more points you make. There's about 3 missions to every level. You receive medals of bronze, silver, and gold depending on how well you play. There are also collectibles to find through out the game in the form of posters and target shooting boards. There are a few extras in the game you get such as viewing 50's music videos and some art work made for the game which you earn mostly by progressing through the game. The only down side I had was the lame rocket launcher. I couldn't hit anything with that thing. Anything in the air that is. Other than that, great game. Now go put the cannon to'em and play this game.

Da Zombies Are At It Again With Resident Evil 5

Wassup everyone I hope you all had a good weekend like I did. Well all did was sleep. Anyways, I had to write about this game because it was the first game that came to mind since I did just play it last night. Now I know this game has been out for a few months now, but hey its still current. Its definitely changed a lot in some ways but there's a lot that's still the same. One thing that's new is the push button action sequences. This push button action thing is starting to become a big trend in videogames as of late. I've seen it in a number of games lately. Resident Evil has a lot of great artistry. The evironments are amazing and great for HDTVs. It really feels like you're there. There's a level where you play at a mine or quarry. I don't know maybe they're mining for diamonds, but the sun is just as blinding as if it was the real thing. I really like the way it illuminates the rocks in that scene. The gameplay is ok at best as far as controls are concerned. The controls are really blocky and choppy. It just as the games 1 through 4. Though they're not hard to manage but you just don't get a good feeling of movement with your character that you're playing with. It just seems that they didn't have a good idea of control placement. They really need to stop letting this be Resident Evil's trademark. Other than that the game is great. During its debut Resident Evil 5 took shots of racism for having it's plot based in Africa. Being black myself, I didn't necessarily take any offense to it. This bugs me because people obviously don't know all the facts. First of all its just a game people! Secondly the game is about a virus turning people into zombies. If people would have played the other four they would have known that. The virus in the game changes anyone, black or white, into a zombie and the hero or heroin kills them dead just the same. If game developers were really racist black people would not be on the cover of videogames. There would be no Kobe on the upcoming NBA 2k10 game, no Muhammad Ali or Mike Tyson in Fight Night 4, and no Balrog in Street Fighter. So please people stop looking for a reason to start a movement and get your facts straight before you scream fire. Oh yeah and check out this game if you haven't already.

Sonic, Sonic, Sonic.

I remember when I first played this game. I had traded my Super NES for my friend's Sega Genesis for a week. After that whole week of playing Sonic the Hedge Hog I was sold. I wanted a Sega Genesis. The game played fast. It definitely showed what the Genesis was capable of. I traded Mario for Sonic real quick. If you think about it Sonic was basically Sega's Mario. Mario collected coins and Sonic collected rings. Mario jumped through pipes and Sonic ran through loops. You catchin' my drift here? Good. I still remember the code to get to all the levels. Up, down, left, right, hold A, and start. The Boss Dr. Robotnik was funny as hell. I had a boss who looked exactly like him with the rotund frame and little legs. lol My favorite level was the Green Hill Zone. It had a lot of loops and tunnels to go through. I also loved the little mini games that you played trying to grab one of the 7 diamonds. If you still have this game sit back relax and pay some respects playing it.

Prototypes Gone Awry!

You awaken from death to a war-torn New York City that's plagued by a rampant virus infecting the population. You have no memory of who you are and what you've become. That's the story behind Alex Mercer, the main character of prototype. You play as Alex who is trying to recover his memory and find out what he has become and who did this to him and make them pay. Alex has numerous powers. One of them is enemy absorption. He uses this power to extract memories, experiences, skill sets, and physical forms. He can also shape shift into attack or defensive forms. His arms and hand literally become weapons to be reckoned with. He can also shield himself from danger. The game is very free roaming. You can focus on a particular mission or just run a muck slicing and dicing people up in the game. The game is really fun to play. The character's abilities seem to be limitless. He jumps off of buildings and lands on the ground as if a meteor made impact with the earth. It's a very engaging game. I haven't finished it yet but I'll let you know how it goes. Here's a little clip of the game:

Ok ok, we can rest now that they've officially picked the cover for the next 2K game. I was hoping to find some early game play videos but nothing as of yet. All I found was a picture of Shaq in a Cleveland Caveliers uniform with LeBron in the background and a bunch of phony Youtube clips. I guess its a bit too early. The draft just recently happened and trades are still being made so that's understandable. Maybe something will pop up between August and September. Anyways that's not what I wanted to talk about. While I was browsing around looking for something to write about I went to the 2K Sports website just to check to see what they had. Apparently they have 2 versions of the game coming out. One is the regular edition and another is a Gold edition. If you buy the Gold edition you get a myriad of extras. The extras include a "16x"36 poster, a NBA 2K10 sports locker that holds 20 games, and a McFarlane "6 figurine of Kobe. Also I guess they have a "Gold Room" in the VIP online portion of the game. I wonder what types of goodies would be in there? I'm not really all too impressed with the other extras myself but if you like it then I can't hate you on that. I just can't wait to play the game. To see for yourself click here:http://www.2ksports.com/games/nba2k10ae

Portable Xbox?! Whaaaat?!

It seems that Microsoft might be coming out with an Xbox portable. "For us, it's a matter of focusing on 'when', because if we chased after a mobile or handheld opportunity, we would not have the resources and ability to do things like... Project Natal," says Shane Kim, Microsoft's corporate vice president. Man I would love to see that. Then again I hardly play my PSP. I wonder if you'll be able to play 360 games on it. Right now the most popular portable is the Nintendo DS and DS Lite. Oh yeah, the picture of the portable that you see is just a mock up I found on flickr. Its not a prototype or actual design. It does fit the story though. To get the full story click here:http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3175208

She Just Loves To Get All Wet!

I know I've said this a bunch of times already, but I've been waiting for this game a really long time and I can't wait to play it. Wet is a game based on the character Rubi Malone who's handles matters of the very deadly & permanent. She's deals in the skilled art of wet works. You know like making people sleep with the fishes or handing down dirt naps, hence the name of the game. This girl is like Lara Croft and Trinity combined with a deadly dose of Beatrix from Kill Bill. The bitch is bad. Rubi's voice is played by Eliza Dushku. I don't know, you may have seen her in the TV series Tru Calling and that new one called Dollhouse. If that's not a plus then I don't know what is because she's hot. This game is heavily driven on major combo action. Every part of the game is meant to feel like you're in a Matrix type or Kill Bill movie. It sort of plays out like Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden as far as the combo stacking is concerned. Rubi carries a sword and 2 guns so it will be nice to see how you can wield her weapons. WET was originally dropped last year by Activision Blizzard but later put back into production by Bethesda Softworks. It also featured in this year's E3 convention. It's set for release later this fall. Here's some video of the game:

Fight Night 4: Mike is finally in the Game!

I've been waiting for this a long time. FN4 with Mike Tyson. Finally they got Mike in the game. I thought they were gonna add him in the Knockout King series they had a while back but they never did. Sure Mike was in other games but this is Fight Night they had to add him sooner or later. FN4 is really different from the Fight Night games. They have new punching mechanics that make the boxing match more realistic. The blood and sweat look authentic just like in the real match. The boxers can physically touch each other without meshing into one another. Another thing that's changed are the combos. The combos flow so much better. Gone are those easy haymakers. You can't just stand there charging up haymakers anymore. The game really keeps you honest. It's hard to manipulate the game always to your advantage. FN4 has a point system where you gain points every round depending on how well you play. The better you play the more points you earn. Those points earned goes towards the healing of your character, restoration of stamina, and easing swelling and cuts. The career mode keeps you on the straight and narrow too. It's progressive meaning the better you fight the tougher the matches will be. You also get to decide when you want to fight. You schedule your own matches. It's definitely a step up from FN3. The hardest part of the game is getting up from being knocked down. It's a whole new system now. I don't know whether if it's hard or I'm making it harder than it is. Other than that its still a game worth playing. Here's a clip of the game in action:

Hittin'em Hard with Streets of Rage 2

I must be working on a theme here. This is the second game that I've talked about that has the word Street in it. I bet you don't know what I'll put up tomorrow for Classic Game of The Day. ;-) Ok this game definitely takes me back way back when I used to rock the Sega Genesis. Streets of Rage 2. I used to play this game from sun up to sun down. I used to play it by myself when I wanted a bit of a challenge and with my brother for when we wanted to tear the streets up. This was a great action game. Lots of levels with a lot action. There was no part of the game where you didn't fight some thug looking to take you down. I used to hate the guys with the little knives. They would always stab you and run away. The characters were pretty cool. I used to always pick Axel and Skate. Those were my favorite characters. Each character had a special attack that demolished all the goons in the game. The stage bosses were pretty bad ass too. This was my favorite game to play out of the Streets of Rage series. Could you imagine if they made an updated version for the Xbox 360 and the PS3? I would be first in line to buy it. So pay some respects by busting out your Genesis emulators and playing this great game. Peace.

Get Yo Gamin' Right!

If you love games like I do then you know that you have to have a really good gaming controller. I have had the opportunity to own quiet a few gaming systems in my time. A lot of them had or have really good gaming controllers. A few of my favorites are the Sega Genesis 6-button, the Dreamcast controller, even though it was big and bulky, and last but not least the Xbox 360. Those controllers just had a great feel and grip to them and provided hours of fun game play for me. I have a PS3 and I've been having trouble playing some of the games with its original controllers especially NBA 2K9. Well a couple of months ago I was browsing online to purchase some 6-buttons for the new Street Fighter game then I came across a controller made by a company named Dream Gear. They have a red and black Xbox 360 look a like controller for the PS3 called the Dream Gear Shadow. It's an awesome controller with perfect grip. It has a thick rubber covering perfect for that sweaty palm syndrome that you get after an intense session of gaming. It has a tough solid body. I know this because I went to Meijer and I got to hold one. It fits perfect right in your hand like an original 360 controller. Its also very affordable. Well maybe not on the Dream Gear website. It's $44 there but if you google like I did you can find it for as low as $26. NewEgg has them for about $29 for all those who trust everything NewEgg. So I'm definitely thinking of picking a pair up for my PS3 because I've already purchased cheap third party controllers and ebay junk that just fall apart in your hand literally. It's best to spend a little money for that quality sometimes.

Let's Talk About That Heavy Rain That's Coming Down

Now this is a game that I've been wanting to talk about for a long time. Heavy Rain is a suspense thriller by a French game developer by the name of Quantic Dream and made for the PS3. Dubbed a cinematic and evolving thriller by GameSpy, Heavy Rain plays true to form with its push button action sequences and it's rich character base. I've seen a few reviews from the guys at G4 during their time covering E3. The game looks very nice & I can't wait to play it. One of the Enticing parts I'm interested in is that you can make decisions that will alter the game play and virtually alter the game's ending. Also I heard that if your character is gone they're gone for good. You assume multiple characters in the game. Just think of all the possible endings. You would be playing this game for hours on end. Now that's worth 50 or 60 bucks. I'd pay that for sure. I've checked the Quantic Dream website and they don't really have much on Heavy Rain yet. Unfortunately the game has been delayed until next year. Here's a little sneak peek from Gamespy.

Let's Pay Some Homage to Street Fighter: Street Fighter 2010

What's up people! I want to start this blog on a good note. Now I didn't have time to start off with a good blog today. I have other things going on in my life and I didn't have time to commit. Slowly I'll get in the habit of blogging more. Enough of that. Whew. I'm gonna start a new category that I hope everyone would like. I'm gonna call it classic game of the day. The game I'm gonna start with is this one, Street Fighter 2010. Not Street Fighter with Ken & Ryu but Street Fighter 2010. This is one of the best games that nobody's really heard of. It's one of my favorites because my dad got it for me on my birthday when I was 11 for $20 at Toys R US. Yeah, good times. Great game and awesome game play. Coincidentally this game also has a Ken character and is made by Capcom, coincidentally. Hmm... I wonder what Capcom's angle was at the time. The game was really tough. The plot was pretty decent too. I took me about a week or two to beat. It really had some nice graphics for being on the NES. Tons of action and one of my most memorable games I've ever played. So bust out your NES emulators, I know you have them, and play this game if you haven't played it. If you're still rockin the original NES buy the game from ebay. Somebody out there still has it. And with that said I've just beat my 12:00AM deadline and I can go relax and get other stuff done. I'll be back tomorrow with more posts. L8terz.
