The Grub Killing Fields

Happy Memorial Day everyone! I'd like to give a serious shout out to all the people who have served in the US armed forces. Thank you so much. We appreciate your service. What's  a better way to bring in the tradition than barbeque, beer, and, oh yeah, a Gears of War 3 campaign trailer? Let's hope that our soldiers at war never encounter enemies like grubs. That's the last thing we need on this Earth right now. If it does happen though I know I have thousands of Marcus Fenix like soldiers who will be willing to carry on the fight. A few Cole Trains wouldn't hurt either. Watch the clip.

It's All In The Shot Stick: My NBA 2K11 Diatribe

I've been really digging into NBA 2K11 as of late. It seems to be the only game I play these days and I have a lot of games. Out of the 23 games that I have for my PlayStation 3, not even including the dozen or so that I have on the hard drive, I play 2K11 the most. I've been playing the game a lot mostly because of the My Player mode. I created my player and have more or less become a stat whore. I'm all about the numbers and I've learned to manipulate the game of sorts.

In the beginning when I first created my player it was really tough. I had to figure out how add the original 10,000 skill points to my player to get the most efficiency out of him. That was the tricky part because when you play the game they don't give you no breaks. You have to scrap for every play and every point. They don't give it to you at all. You really have to earn it. Once you get to around level 58 you'll be able to maneuver through the games pretty good. You shots will become a little easier to make and you'll find that your defense has picked up notch as well. It still all relies on how you divvy up your skill points though.

If you manipulate the attributes then you manipulate the game. I've found that depending on the particular skill you may not need to max it all the way up to 99. For instance, my created player had a free throw rating of 46 which isn't really good but I managed to make most of my free throws with it. You really have to have a steady thumb for that. Rebounds are the same way. I was grabbing 12 to 17 rebounds per game with my created player on a 60 rating. Doing this allowed me to split my skill points to other attributes increasing my  player's talent. I was forcing my player into those actions even though he wasn't very skilled in them.

If I had to put it into percentages I would say that to have true success in My Player it would be 55 percent building your character and 45 percent of truly knowing how to play the game of basketball and playing the game itself. The game is not perfect by any means. If you know how to play the game then you know how to manipulate it. There's a lot of familiarity with gauging the AI's moves and when to strike and react.

One of the problems that I've noticed is shot control. In 2K10 I just loved having the ability of just knowing when to shoot. I didn't have a meter to guide me or anything. I know it sounds weird but I like the shooting the ball without shot stick timing. You get a more fluid shot that way. It feels better to me too. With shot stick timing on it feels kind of blocky and choppy especially when you play online. Thats where I really have to gauge my shot. Unfortunately when you play the My Player and Online modes you can't turn shot stick timing off. You get used to it in the My Player mode but when you play online it sucks especially when you play someone online who doesn't have a solid connection and their lagging. Be prepared to miss a lot of shots.

Another thing I have a problem with is how the computer decides whether or not my shot will go in or not. This is where I get so frustrated. If you ever get a chance to watch me play you would probably see me cursing all kinds expletives at the TV screen because what I thought was a good shot apparently was not a good shot at all. I could take a 10 ft shot with a really good shooter like Kobe Bryant, or say for instance my created player who is at a rating of 99 in mostly everything, and the ball will either roll in or roll out, hit the back iron, or this is my worst, fall short. Its so annoying when it happens. I'm not expecting to hit every shot in the game but I do expect to hit a majority of my shots. The majority that I do shoot better fall in.

Now I'm not talking about just shooting any kind of crazy shot but if I'm open and I take a good percentage shot it should fall most of the time. A player with a rating of 99 shouldn't be missing a majority of his mid range shots but NBA 2K11 has a way of making sure that he does. These are open shots that I'm talking about not defensively guarded shots. That's been my pet peeve. Don't even get me started on lay-ups. There have been number times when I've attempted to make a lay-up and the ball would roll in and roll out or roll across the back iron and fall on the other side. Its so irritating when you get a decent drive to the lane lay it up and that happens, with no defense on guard mind you.

A lot of the time it feels like you being challenged more by the computer than the actual opponent when you see things like that happen in the game. I'm not trying to be the bearer of bad news I'm just telling you my experiences when I play this game. I'm sure a bunch of you can relate. I've played this game so much that I pretty much have it down to a science. None of this information is gonna make me be the best player in this game but I have honed my skills considerably playing this game numerous times.

I have a theory of how the online game is played. Hear me out. I've learned from all the years of playing this game that when you play an opponent of a higher rank it does not work in your favor. Certain shots that you would normally get against another player might not fall for you when you play a specific player of a higher ranking. To add insult to injury you may find that the particular high ranking opponent may have his way with you shooting the lights out. Nothing can be missed when they play. Even the shots that shouldn't have been made fall in somehow. Part of you might say its because they're good and another part of you would say that they had some lucky shots. I've found that the game works in their favor greatly depending how far down the totem pole you are in rank.

So you if you happen to get lucky and have you're opponents back against the wall on a 20 point run in the third don't expect the game to be over so soon. 2K11 has a way of working against you. You could hit a dry spell missing your shots and allowing your opponent to come back. I don't know if its just the nature of basketball that the game emulates or the favor factor that I speak about but either way its really royally annoying when it happens. Idealistically you would like to carry on the onslaught against your opponent and not give them a chance to come back. I could be wrong about everything and it could be the fact that fatigue comes into play with your team or key players possibly affecting the way they shoot the ball. Who knows really?

My worst problem with this game would be playing someone online and they realize that I'm going to win the game they either offer to tap out or they just disconnect themselves from the game session altogether. I really hate that. Some people truly feel that they're supposed to win every single game. Name a basketball star that has won every single basket ball game in their career? Just name one. No one can because that basketball god doesn't exist. So why do these players feel that I'm supposed to lose all the time? I guess they don't realize that I know how to play this game and I am pretty good. Just because my stats are not as high or I haven't won as many games as them doesn't mean that I don't know how to play the game.

Today I played someone online. I had the Chicago Bulls and my opponent had the Miami Heat. When I play people online I let them pick first. Most times they pick their favorite team. I like to pick good match ups or rivals to play against them. I do have a favorite team by the way, Lakers, but I've learned that you don't always win the game with your favorite. You have to choose your battles wisely. So we got into the match and it was a pretty good battle.

Entering the 3rd quarter I had got on a pretty good run and had bested my opponent with my stingy defense. I was using multiple sessions of double teams every time he would try to force himself in the lane. I would not let him drive through the lane with D. Wade or LeBron at all. So I basically took away his offense. My opponent then resorted to shooting 3 pointers. He was missing more than he was hitting and I was gobbling up all the rebounds.

By the end of the third I had him on a 15 point run and he couldn't stop me. So he waved the white flag and wanted to quit early and I declined. Then he finally just disconnected. Don't you hate when they do that? I get upset when they do that because the 2K network doesn't always do a good job of recording that scenario. Some times it does sometimes it doesn't. Theres no real way that you can report it either. Oh well.

I know it might sound like I'm literally knocking NBA 2K11 but I'm not. It's a great game. I'm just pointing out some flaws and annoyances in the game. I'm also just expressing my frustrations with 2K11 As with any game, or anything for that matter,  nothing is perfect. They strive to make the best game that they can. I have seen that. It's the best NBA basketball game to date. It's the only NBA Basketball game today. Sorry EA Sports. I still love basketball, even though my Lakers are not in the finals, and I still love playing NBA 2K11 and will continue to play it until 2K12 comes out. Hopefully all those problems that I mentioned will be gone by then. If you would like to challenge me online through the PlayStation Network just add me and give me a holler @ MEKKACHYLD. I look forward to playing you guys.

You Can Either Be The Hunter or The Hunted

Check out the debut trailer for the upcoming Hunted game. It kind of reminds me of the Lord of The Ring games somewhat. Looks like theres a lot of heavy action in it too. That's my type of game. I'm looking forward to playing it. I'd love to kick some Orge and troll butt.

New BloodRayne: Betrayal Trailer

All I can say is oooooooooooooh! I know even though its a 2D downloadable side scroller it looks like its gonna be a big hit. Dare I say that it might even be as good as the original? I think I might. From the looks of trailer it seems as though the action is a lot more fluid and ready. It really comes at you. Where as the original game, it either popped out at you or you usually had to fish it out. Its just really nice to see BloodRayne back in the gaming line now. It really seems that 2D games are popular once again. Take a look at the new trailer.

The History of Tomb Raider

I remember when Tomb Raider first came on the scene. It was a game that I had to buy. At the time I had purchased it for my Sega Saturn when I was 14 years old. It one of the first games that I has bought for that system. I soon found out that I was addicted to the game. It had a great story with a woman for an excellent character. Back then the protagonists in games were mostly men while women characters held supporting roles. Lara Croft definitely changed the mold as a female heroine. The first game had excellent gameplay for its time. I spent hours and hours trying to figure out puzzles and eluding tigers and bears.

From the first game I was hooked and continued to purchase games from the Tomb Raider franchise. Today its still one of my most favorite series of games to play. I'm looking forward to upcoming Tomb Raider game. Watch the video as they talk about the history of Tomb Raider and its franchise.

Have you ever played a game and wished it was made a certain way, say for instance, changing a level, adding more characters, or making it more challenging? Well now you can in inFamous 2. The guys from Sucker Punch Productions have added a feature called UGC (User Generated Content). Its a unique system of tools that allows gamers to enter the inFamous 2 game and enhance or recreate missions from the game in their own light. Don't Ever Mess With Alice! Never Ever!

I don't like dealing with crazy people. You can't reason with them. There is no understanding of any rationality at all. You asked them for the time and they tell you that you're gonna die just for no reason at all. All you can think about is getting to an open area where you might have a good chance for calling for help if things get dicey. You mix that up with someone who has a chip on their shoulder, who happens to be female, and they've been scorned past the reason of scornability, watch out my friend! That's what I call a crazy chick. You want to steer clear of all her actions because you never know when they might be the end of you. That's the same situation that seems to be happening for our dear Alice.

In the upcoming game Alice: Madness Returns, she has this innate ability to just go berserk when things get a little hairy. Its just as bad as one of Wolverine's berserker rages, and we know how crazy he is. Alice has a similar rage called Hysteria. Alice's hysteria comes to form when she is inches towards death. It enhances her attack power giving her a leg up against her foes. Imagine taking her out on date and as she enters one of her episodes. I'm sure a lot of you guys know what thats like first hand. Watch the video for an example.

New Assassin's Creed Revelations Trailer

Check out the new Assassin's Creed Revelations trailer. It looks really sleek and nice. The trailer shows an aged Ezio, as he continues to battle, looking for answer to questions hoping that, we the gamers, help him find the truth. Well I don't know if asking us gamers but he's clearly asking someone to throw him a bone. A full trailer of the game will be featured at E3 next month. The game is set for release in November.

Viva La Resistance!

I remember when the demo for the original Resistance game came out. I downloaded it and played it. I did not like it at all. I had problems with the controls. They just didn't feel right so I passed the game up when it debuted in 2006. I'm kicking myself now because the game and its sequel, Resistance 2, have both turned out to be hits making it a great series. Shows you how well I pick'em huh? I made the same mistake with the inFamous title as well. Now I have to run to Gamespot and purchase those titles to make up for lost time.

Now within a few months Resistance 3 will debut. I don't think I can't finish 2 games in 4 months not with everything that's going on in my life. I'll probably have to play heavy on the weekends. This game will continue with a new protagonist; well not so new. He was actually in the previous game who ultimately killed the original protagonist because he was turning into one of those chimera things. I know what your thinking. How do I know if I haven't even played the game yet? Well I do my research guys. I also know what you're gonna ask me next. Doesn't it spoil the game for me? Nope not really. By the time I play this series I won't even remember the plot.

I'll let the Resistance 3 writer, Jon Paquette, explain the senario to you. I think he'll do a better job. Check out the gameplay demo below. Enjoy!

Finish Him!!

Wanna know how fatalities are created? For years the guys at NetherRealm have staked their franchise on this devastating gruesome art in the fight gaming genre. Because of this they have stood out amongst their peers. Watch as they go behind the scenes and talk about what goes into creating those nasty fatalities.

PSP Remasters Announced

As you may have heard Sony announced their PSP Remaster series over the weekend. The series of games will be comprised of classic PSP titles that will be ported over to the PS3 with 3D stereoscopic support with inclusion of PS3 exclusives. Remaster titles will start in Japan later this summer. The first game that will be introduced is Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. That's no surprise seeing that it was very popular for the PSP.

One of the unique features for the remaster series will be the ability to take a save from you PSP and be able to use it for your PS3. How cool is that? Now you don't have to worry about playing the game over to get to where you once were on the PSP. You can go out with your PSP, play a game, save it where ever you are, and come back home and play it on your PS3. How seemless is that? That is so essential.

The announcement is very nice to hear but there are a couple of games that I would like to see be transferred to the PS3. One is Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops and the other is Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. I have both of those games but because of the cantankerous controls I haven't really been able to play them. Its really annoying. So hopefully they'll bring those over. It really seems like Sony is trying to squeeze every little drop of value out of the PSP as quick as they can before they release the NGP. The smart thing to do if they plan to ditch the PSP is to go ahead and make the NGP backwards compatible. That way they'll still retain their PSP fans. They'll also have an easy transition to the NGP.

Here's a video of the HD version of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd:

A Gamer's Regret

I found this on GameRant and had to post it. This is what happens when you borrow a game from a fellow gamer and you don't return it. There's always that one friend who borrows your stuff and you don't see ever see it again for weeks, months, sometimes even years. This is the same reason why I don't let too many people borrow my games. Especially people that I don't know to well. Sorry friends of friends but unfortunately this means you. Hell, family included too. You can never be too safe. lol

Damn, It's A Cold Hard World: BioShock Infinite

I love the BioShock franchise. It's a weird and intricate series. The stories are very complex, peculiar, and original. Oh did I forget to say dark, because they really are. BioShock Infinite steps away from the other 2 games and sets it own tone in its own setting. Watch the video as Irrational Games' creative director, Ken Levine, talks about the game's story and it's characters.

When Zombies... Well, You Know... Attack!

I don't know what it is but people just seem to love their Zombies. It's a big genre in the gaming world. I guess no one really gets tired of slugging down a hand full of the undead. My favorite zombie games have always been from the Resident Evil series and in my eyes nothing has never really come close. There have been a few notable games such as Dead Rising which takes a different approach from Resident Evil. Dead Rising was more humorous and a little lax on the story. It wasn't as dark as Resident Evil was either. The game also had an open world environment just as this new game, Dead Island does.

Dead Island is just as story driven as Resident Evil where you find clues and solve puzzles but entails the same open world element that allows you to discover new things while you're smashing down Zombies. The game also has an element that Dead Rising doesn't have which is upgrading your characters and your weapons.Watch the video as brand manager, Vincent Kummer, talks about the game's attributes and features.

My How The Mighty Have Fallen

Sony has really taken a beating this year. With the unfortunate blow of the devastating Japan Tsunami and the massive hacker attack, Sony has taken a hit on the chin that they could not withstand. The untimely events have really hit Sony's wallet to the tune of upwards the billions. They're fiscal year number projections have been severely crapped on. They have also sustained losses from time not being online via the PlayStation Network and thwarting off multiple lawsuits from various entities due to the hacker infiltrations.

Do I feel sorry for the company? I could easily say no because they are an international company who can make millions on any given day and I'm just a lowly lover of games and an upstart blogger looking to make it in online media. lol Seriously though, admiring Sony's business savvy and their products, I do feel bad. I feel bad because they have created a multi-international online community comprised of not only game developers, brand ambassadors, and vendors, but also fans and gamers. It was sad to see Sony get hit like that because it affected so many others. It could've happened to anybody. It just shows us that no one is safe. It's a big lesson to the rest of the gaming industry of what could be possible.

Will Sony get back to business as usual? I really believe so. They'll start off today, hopefully, bringing the PlayStation Store back online and introducing the Welcome Back promo and go from there. They have plenty of projects and promotions that they plan to deliver within the coming weeks and months. They'll also be rejoined with their previous vendors who also took a huge hit when Sony went down. We'll see how they'll fair out towards the end of the year. The devil is in the details. Check the video from ClevverGames for more info on this story.

Revealing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Trailer

Check out what we get to look forward to in the upcoming Modern Warfare 3 game. It looks like its no holds barred in this one. I'm easily enticed by a lot of action and multiple explosions. I haven't always been a big Call of Duty guy but I'm looking forward to playing this one. If they threw in some CQC combat in this game I would definitely love it. I think that would definitely change the way people saw and played the game. I would love to have CQC kills as a stat.

The Autobots Paying Michael Jackson Homage

Just when I thought I've seen it all. See this is what late night browsing get you. I was just, minutes ago, browsing online doing some reading and this popped up. Well, not really. I just found it on G4 in their around the net section. Its so funny. It has Rodimus Prime leading the way as he channels his inner Michael Jackson. Apparently there are a bunch of these Transformers parodies on YouTube. People have even done stop motion animation full feature episodes. Where do people find time to do all this hilarious stuff. I really have to appreciate them for taking the time to make me laugh. Here's the video.

Blake Griffin Trying Out For Upcoming Rage Game? Well Sort of.

This commercial is kind of funny. Beast of the west, LA Clippers star Blake  Griffin, trying out to be on the upcoming title Rage by id Software. I hope he makes it. It might be awhile till the Clippers get to championship status. I'm just kidding Clippers fans. lol

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception - Behind The Digital Screen

“We cast very carefully, that’s step one in any project. If you cast hastily or badly, you’re screwed forever. If you cast well, you can write any piece of crap and they’ll make it sound wonderful. Trust me, I’ve done it!”
— Amy Hennig, Creative Director, UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception

Since the development of James Cameron's Avatar movie producers and directors have been trending to emulate the motion capture process to create the same results in their feature films. Apparently Naughty Dog game developers have done the same and have followed in their footsteps. See what Amy Hennig and crew do to bring the Uncharted series to life.

Catherine... An Interesting Game To Say The Least

This is one of those weird eclectic, puzzle, story driven type games. Its dubbed in the category of erotic horror. For a minute I didn't think I was going to be able to write about this game. If you've played games like Fear Effect 1 or 2 or Persona then you might be able to understand it a little bit better. The game is about a girl named Catherine, who somehow seduces men, who after possibly spending a night with her, end up having these nightmarish dreams in which they have to fight for they're lives leaving them with the look of anguish on their faces upon death in their sleep.

The game revolves around a guy named Vincent who currently has a girlfriend who name is also Katherine but with a K. Vincent meets the other Catherine then ends up spending the night with her and suddenly falls into the same scenario as the other men. Watch the videos for a better understanding of the game.

Rest In Peace Macho Man

Former WWE pro wrestler Macho Man Randy Savage today suffered from a heart attack while driving his car. He died from injuries of his car hitting a tree. I can't believe I woke up to this news today. Macho Man Randy Savage was one of my favorite wrestlers growing up along side Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Jake The Snake, KoKo Beware, and Jimmy Superfly Snuka. Its sad that he's gone. He was definitely one of the greatest. I used to imitate his voice when I was a kid. and say popular line of, "Oh yeah!". Everytime he won a match he would have his lady Elizabeth at his side. He would always hoist her up over his head and put her on his shoulders. I loved watching him in those Slim Jim commercials. He also did some acting as well. My most memorable was when he fought Peter Parker in a wrestling match in the first Spiderman movie. Its really sad to see him go. He will be missed.

PlayStation Store Returns

Well you probably already know media blogs and sites that the PlayStation store is returning. I'm just supplementing news. I for one can't wait for it to open back up so I can download those goodies that Sony is promising us. The first thing I'll do is download that inFamous game. I can't waiting to play it. Also getting a free month of PlayStation Plus+ might lure to staying on and getting a full subscription. It will be nice to try out. Check the video.

Fable III Now On PC

I remember when there was a time when the popular titles were getting ported from PC to the home consoles. Now today the trend has turned the other way around. Developers are making the popular titles for the home consoles now and the PC gets the latter end of the bone. Portal was a best seller for the PC but was never released for the consoles. Now with the sequel, Portal 2, its all over the consoles. Well the Fable series follows the same trend. Fable 3 originally was released for the Xbox 360 last year. Watch the video as the developers of Fable III talk about the transfer from console to PC.

Welcome Back Sega Rally

Sega Rally is back! Oh yeah! I haven't played Sega Rally since I had my Sega Saturn. Man that brings back some good gaming memories. I loved this game. Right now you can purchase this game on Xbox Live for $10. I don't need to play this new version to tell you that this game is so fun to play. Rally cars are free flowing cars. You can take them where normal racing cars are sure to fail which allows you to be a lot more reckless. I so wish my Xbox was working right now so I could play it. It will also be on the PlayStation Network once they get fully back online next week. Check the video.

inFamous 2: Cole's Story

I have to admit that this inFamous series is a true hit. I don't know why I didn't like the first one when it first came out as beta a few years back. Now all I wanna do is get caught up in the game and story. I'll be happy when the PlayStation store opens back up and I can download inFamous for free via the welcome back promotion. That will give me some time to play that one before inFamous 2 comes out shortly.

It looks like the guys from Sucker Punch have improved the series with the second title by giving Cole new powers and making the story grittier than the first. They also enhanced upon gameplay and graphic elements. Check out this video.

So Outlandish

Outlander is a 2D side platform game with action game elements that revolves around light. It looks like a pretty good looking 2D side scroller. I would say that it might rival games such as Shadow Complex and Super Meat Boy. The graphics look amazing along with all the vivid colors. I like how they incorporate the light mechanics into the game. The game is currently out on the PlayStation Network, well once the PlayStation Store is open, and also on Xbox Live. Check the video.

...And This Is How It All Started

Wanna know how Sony walked that road to redemption leading up to the PSN being knocked down and out? Well here's a little story I've got to tell.

Sony's Xperia Play Makes A Debut

Sony's Xperia Play is coming to a Verizon store near you. I actually found it on Amazon where is around $640. The cheapest was $548. Well with Verizon the price should be only around $200. I'm guessing after the purchase of the phone, a 2 year contract, and some games you might actually pay out that much. I wonder who would wanna do that? The phone will be available for sale May 26th so gamers get your paychecks ready. I don't think I would like to have one. I barely play my PSP. I think I might have something against handhelds. Check the video for more info.

Gamers Complain Over PSN Welcome Back Gifts

Well I guess Sony just can't make anyone happy these days. Well everything is slowly coming back to normal for Sony and its customers. Sony got the PSN back up over the weekend. I was more than happy to get my Netflix and Vudu back on my PS3. Its not really worth watching on my PC. Though Qriocity and the PlayStation store are not back online were able to enjoy online gameplay. That was the big piece of the puzzle that we were missing. It's funny because I have 23 PS3 games and I've yet to play anyone in a match in any game yet. What's wrong with me? Sony even delivered us the list of goodies that they promised us.

Now this is where you play the drum rifts for the punch line. With all that gamers are still not happy. Well apparently some gamers are complaining about what's on the gift list, preferably the game selections. The full welcome back promotion includes 2 free game titles out of a 5 game title selection, 4 game title selection for the PSP. You also get 1 month free of the PlayStation Plus+ subscription for the PlayStation 3 and the PSP. For current subscribers you receive 60 days worth of free services in addition to Qriocity subscribers also receiving the same deal.

Wait, there's more. In addition to the aforementioned,  PSN subscribers will also selection of free movies to enjoy for one weekend. Subscribers who use PlayStation Home will also get dealt a slew of goodies. Ok now back to the game selections. For the PlayStation 3 the welcome back picks were as follows: Dead Nation, inFamous, LittleBigPlanet, Super Star Dust HD, & Wipeout HD + Fury. For the PSP you get LittleBigPlanet, Mod Nation Racers, Pursuit Force, & Killzone Liberation.

Now those are not bad selections. Actually the whole deal is a steal. Now originally I felt that they should have allowed people to get the newer releases but then I got to thinking that they really didn't have to do this at all. Most of us didn't get hacked or our information taken at all. Sony did this just for the fact that we were loyal fans. We're PSN loyalists. lol That games they made available to us were actually some of their most popular games to date. We should be happy that we're getting something for free. A lot actually.

It's like Sony gave us a bunch of doggie treats and we spit them all out like we were too good for that. I don't get some people. Why complain at all? Now some people may argue that they already have this game or that game. I'll tell you this, there is no one person that has every single game on that list. No one. People always want more than they can have, especially when its free. I'm happy because I had a notion to buy inFamous until I saw it on the welcome back list. When I saw that I was happy. Now I can get it for free and play it before inFamous 2 comes out and I get an extra game for free. How cool is that? The rest of the welcome back perks are just bonus to me. So I'm please with the outcome. I guess I have to tip my hat off to the hackers for making this happen. How ironic is that? lol

There an article on http://www.play-mag.co.uk that shows the total sales figures for each game which is just above 10 million sales collectively for each game. There are over 77 million PSN users meaning that not every PSN user has played those games yet. This means that Sony was justified in adding those games to the Welcome back gift list. Check it out for your own reading pleasure.

Tekken Blood Vengeance Trailer

Its not the first time that theres been a Tekken animated movie but it is the first time that they've used CGI in a Tekken movie. This kind of reminds me of the Final Fantasy: Advent Children movie. Has the same look, well without all the fantasy, and feel plus it looks like it has a whole lot of action. Check the trailer.

Enter The Wicked Workshop: Everything Creepy-Crawly In The Gears of War World

Ever wonder how the world of Gears of War is made? Check out the mastermind behind the all the monsters, the creepy crawlies, and the dark world of Sera, Chris Perna, art director of Epic Games.

Red Faction 101

This is one game that I'm not too familiar with. I played the original on the original Xbox but that's about it. Little did I know that it was actually a profound hit and has carried on through its series. Now they have the upcoming game Red Faction: Armageddon coming out and it looks just as tough as the previous titles. I'm kind of sad that I missed out on the greatness here. To bring, not only everyone else but also myself, check out Red Factions History video and the latest Armageddon trailer.

I Said StarHawk Not StarFox!

StarHawk is the successor to the notable shooter Warhawk which is currently in production by the LightBox Interactive. Its not exactly a sequel to the popular game WarHawk. It's more of an inspiration of WarHawk. It has its own original story and features but just as good gameplay as the WarHawk game did. This will keep the fans of the original WarHawk game engaged. I won't also forget to mention that the legacy LightBox has with support of constant updates and expansions. The game will be released sometime next year. These videos should bring you up to speed with the latest details about the game.

New Modern Warfare 3 Trailer

The Call of Duty Series has seriously surpassed all kind of expectation with their popular releases. Currently Black - Ops seems to be their biggest hit to date. Now Activision smacks us in the face with another future upcoming title, Modern Warfare 3. It was just recently announced so no major content on the game except for a teaser trailer. The game is scheduled for release in November. Check the trailer.

PlayStation Network Is Back Up!

The PlayStation Network is finally back up. Watch the video as Kazuo Hirai talks about the restoration services and changes to the network.

Hackers claim another victim

As if things couldn't get any worse Square Enix got hacked. According to the BBC the hackers attacked 2 of the Japanese company's websites. One was Eidosmontreal.com, which is run by Eidos, a subsidiary of the company and the other was Deusex.com, which is a promotional site for the upcoming game Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Up to 25,000 customer's information may have been compromised including 350 people applying for jobs.

This is really getting out of hand. First the PlayStation Network and now Square Enix, which are both Sony related. You would think that a companies like Sony or Square Enix would be hard to break into via the internet. Now I see nothing is safe. What's next? The weird thing is that they are hacking these sites so effortlessly. If they can do this to Sony who else can they do this too? Everybody and every entity is so vulnerable on the internet right now.

Something Evil Lurks In The Shadows

New Horror game Shadows of the Damned proves to be an upcoming thriller. I love scary games like this. The first scary game I played was Resident Evil. The next one was Silent Hill. This game is sort of similar to the two. It also reminds me of a few other horror games as well. You play as Garcia Hotspur who is a demon hunter. Garcia is on a mission to rescue his girlfriend from Fleming, the Lord of the demons who has been on losing end of Garcia's victories.

The game looks pretty good. It has elements of Devil May Cry and Portal 2 in it. This game is kick-ass yet comedic type of game. Garcia is definitely a bad ass. I'm looking forward to playing this one. Check the videos.
