I guess as gamers we'll never leave the zombie genre alone. There will always be some group of developers that gets some novel idea of making yet another zombie game. At this point there all the same to me these days. Like in fighting games Street Fighter was that upper echelon that everybody coveted and followed and patterned after. I would have to make that case for Resident Evil. Now I feel every zombie game is patterned after that series whether its a serious story driven action platform title or just your regular run of the muck zombie hack n slasher. I can't say that I'm totally through with the zombie category but I can definitely say that I've seen my fill.
Enter Lollipop Chainsaw. This particular zombie game features a chainsaw toting high school cheerleader with an attitude and some personality. Check out the the heart-shaped cut outs on the chainsaw. lol The features Juliet, a cheerleader, who fights alongside her family and her boyfriend, a talking head, against a horde of zombies in San Romero High School. The game was developed by James Gunn and Suda 51 along with Grasshopper. If you'll remember Grasshopper were the developers behind the recently released Shadows of The Damned game.
Lollipop Chainsaw features a lot of stylish action combos similar to the Devil May Cry series. This title also tries to push the limits with its crass, lewd, and vulgar nature. So you'll probably hear a lot of cursing and see a lot of sexual inuendo. It's just the type of game for the everyday average immature teenage boy who gets overly excited looking at a woman's cleavage. Take a look at the announcement trailer.
