1999-2009: Ten Years of NBA 2K
I can't believe it's been 10 years since the first NBA 2K game came out. Time really flies. I remember when my brother introduced me to the game. I was still a heavy NBA Live fanatic. My brother was heavily trying to convince me that NBA 2K was better than NBA Live. I just didn't believe him until NBA 2k2 came out. I saw Allen Iverson's picture on the cover and I just had to play it. The game was unique and amazing. It was as close to playing in a real life NBA game as you could get at that time. I'm telling you the game play was that good. I quickly became a fan. Now the 2K series has exploded. Every year since the beginning it's been getting better and better. The installments of 2k7 to 2k9 have definitely put gamers right on the court. You feel as if you're the one on the floor making moves, schoolin' boys, and one arming it in the rim. The New 2K10 game looks really fresh. I can't wait until it comes out. I definitely wanna play with Ron Artest, who is now a Laker. There are so many new additions and changes to the game. One of my favorites is being able to play your created player online. Finally someone hears my plea. I've been waiting to do this with my created player online for a long time. You'll be able to play with other gamers and their digital counterparts in online pickup games. Depending on how well you play, you'll earn points to add to the attributes of your created player. Another feature is the "My Player" mode. With this mode you'll be able send your created player to NBA summer & training camps. There you will show and prove with your created player, vying for spots on an NBA team. Just as in the online pickup games, you earn points on how well you play used to add to your created players attributes. How much more real can it get than that? I'm definitely looking forward to this game. The game will be released October 6 just in time for the NBA season. Here are some screens from GameSpot.com:
