Ok so I played the game demo of NCAA Football 12 the other day and I have to say it was a little refreshing. Just a little. I've never really been a big fan of college football. It plays way differently from NFL football. The only thing that I really liked about college football were the bowl games and the Heisman trophy inductions. Oh yeah and I also liked to watch the seniors in their final year leading up to the NFL drafts. Other than those interests that I mentioned I was far removed from college football.
The game on the other hand had great presentation though. The graphics and colors were very vivid and bright. The field felt wide open. It was free and open in a way that was different from Madden. I could actually see who I could possibly throw to unlike Madden where you have an idea of where to throw but you just hope that a defender doesn't beat you to it. I don't know if its because the college game and the pro game are just completely different but its something that I noticed.
What I liked about the demo was the run game. I could actually run. lol In Madden I just hope that I can get a few yards here and there just to mix it up so that my opponent doesn't cheat on the defense. I definitely got some decent runs in with the OU Ducks. Who knew that they were that good of a team? lol The only thing that I knew of them was the Jimmy Fallon OU fight ballad. lol The passing game played pretty good as well. Gameplay was seamless and very fluid.
The only thing that I didn't like was the audible system. I was hoping that it would be just like Madden 11's audible system but it's not and as a first time player of this game I was kind of confused. I just left the audibles alone and just went with the regular plays. It might take me some time getting used to if I get to play it again. I don't think this game has totally won me over yet but I enjoyed my time playing it.
